At the end of the year 2011, ADRA and its partners reached 453,460 community members with HIV anti-stigma messages, 28,839 general and targeted populations have been reached with HIV testing and counselling services. 26,902 out-of-school youth and 10,606 MARPs and Vulnerable groups were also reached with HIV prevention messages and services respectively.
ADRA Ghana partnering seven Non-Governmental Organizations continued to provide HIV and AIDS prevention packages to the General Population and targeted groups–MARPs and Vulnerable groups. All these were implemented to contribute to the national goal of reducing new HIV infections. Phase I which was originally scheduled to end on 31st December, 2011, has been extended to 31st March, 2012 to avoid possible interruptions in implementation while a decision on Phase II is being made by the Global Fund.
