Outcome 1: Improved Access to COVID-19 Vaccines for 10,000 people

Through the project, 11,947 vulnerable populations received only their first vaccine dose or completed the vaccination protocols. Ninety percent (90%) of the project partner churches and community respondents said they would get vaccinated once a vaccine is available and recommended. This figure compares with a 40% acceptance rate among the non-project church and community respondents. Therefore, the COVID-19 vaccine uptake among the project communities and churches saw an impressive 125 percent increase—demonstrating an encouraging widespread acceptance.

Data available from the project documents revealed that 11,947 vulnerable population received either only their first vaccine dose or completed the vaccination protocols (i.e., two (2) doses for most vaccines). The evaluation found evidence that the project significantly exceeded the target of 10,000, thus achieving 119%, exhibiting exceptional performance.

The project documents revealed that ADRA procured and distributed 21 pieces of COVID-19 vaccine cold storage equipment to GAHS facilities. The cold storage equipment comprised six (6) double-door refrigerators and 15 ice chests. Even though the equipment prices exceeded the estimated amounts, the project made some savings on other budget lines to achieve this indicator.

Analysis of documents showed that the project reached 4,300 frontline workers with PPEs at closeout. The project target of 4,000 was over-achieved by 8%.
