The COVID-19 project was designed to assist 200 vulnerable people in the targeted communities with employable skills and jobs. From a baseline of zero (0), the project supported 195 women and youth, comprising 83 (43%) females and 112 (57%) males. The project exceeded its 80% target by 18%. At the project closeout in October 2022, 98% of the targeted population had access to employable skills and job opportunities. A hundred percent (100%) of the study subjects indicated to have acquired employable skills. In contrast, 50% of them claimed to have had a job due to the training support they received from the project.
The project documents revealed that 98 persons received training in climate-smart vegetable production, nutrition, and disaster risk reduction. Although a lot of progress was made with this indicator, the project target of 100 was slightly missed.
Although the project provided training in climate-smart vegetable production, nutrition, and disaster risk reduction, they were not offered starter packs. No budget provision was made for starter packages due to limited resources.
Data available from the project documents revealed that 97 young people received TVET skills. Although a lot of progress was made with this indicator, the project target of 100 was also missed marginally.
