For the past 35 years, ADRA Ghana has been involved in supporting education
in more than 10 regions of the country. The main strategies have been
increasing access, retention, and completion of learners, particularly the girl
child, and improving community ownership. In recent times, the focus on
education has been scholarship provision for pupils and students up to the
tertiary level and distribution of donated textbooks. The educational
scholarships have mainly benefitted brilliant students from poor homes and
orphans especially, those orphaned through death caused by HIV & AIDS.
Significant achievements have been made in this direction and scores of young
people have received education. Over the years, ADRA has reached more than
500,000 children with our educational interventions.
