ADRA Ghana has been implementing interventions in this sector for about 35 years. Agriculture and Food Security is a major field of intervention in which ADRA Ghana has made the most recognizable impacts in assisting over 2,000,000 farmers and their households in about 2,000 communities to improve their agricultural productivity and production. The support has contributed to increased household incomes and a reduction in poverty levels. ADRA has a wide geographical coverage and has implemented projects in all 16 regions of Ghana. The Agency has developed and adopted an integrated approach to its food security projects. Over the past five (5) years, ADRA has served more than 500,000 people in communities of operation. The Agency has been using capacity strengthening approaches for smallholder farmers and youth in TVET; community mobilization; and sensitization including group formation to organize project beneficiaries. In all our programming, we make deliberate efforts at ensuring more than 40% women’s active participation. Through the Country Office’s hard work, some of its beneficiary farmers have received awards at the regional and district levels during National Farmers’ Day Celebrations.
